Layo1 PCB Design Home Double Sided is the design version with which you can create the most complex single and double-sided boards for hobby purposes.

All Layo1 PCB Design versions have Netlist support. A Netlist is a text file that lists all components and connections as set out in the diagram. If you use this, then Layo1 PCB Design is no longer a "know nothing" drawing program like the Draw versions, but a true design system. You still have total freedom in placing and drawing tracks but Layo1 PCB Design will check every connection according to Netlist. If a track comes too close to an object on another network, then Layo1 PCB Design will draw a clear white line where things went wrong. Layo1 PCB Design will also open an information screen with one or more error messages. Click on an error and Layo1 PCB Design zooms in on the location of the error. The error message is deleted as soon as this is remedied. Layo1 PCB Design provides a list of the networks that are not yet ready while you are creating tracks. This list (left of the activity field) is sorted according to the number of pins which are not yet connected. If you select a network from this list it will be displayed clearly. Once all connections have been made, the list is empty and everything is connected according to the Netlist.

Layo1 PCB Design can read a Netlist from an external diagram-drawing program. Mentor, multiSim, Calay, Protel and Tango formats are automatically recognised at present! When you open a Netlist, all the components and connections which appear in the diagram are automatically loaded.  The left field displays a list of all components which are not on the circuit board. Click on a component in the list and it will move with the cursor so you can place it. Determine the correct positioning using the guidelines which are recalculated after every operation. Once all the components are on the board, the complete component list is displayed on the left. Double-click a component and Layo1 PCB Design will zoom in on it.

We hope that this brief description is sufficient in helping you choose between  Draw and Design.

Create a board using Layo1 PCB Design as follows:

·        start with Menu->New

·        enter measurements, select single- or double-sided and select the Netlist

·        select the components one by one from the databank and place them

·        select track width and draw tracks using guidelines

·        save your work of art and print

Of course, in the meantime you can:

·        adjust the size of the board

·        add/delete/move/tilt/mirror components

·        adjust/move/remove tracks

It’s that simple! (second time around...)
